Friends & Fellows Matter in a Crisis Year

The Fall 2020 Community Matters newsletter highlights how the Friends & Fellows Fund bolstered PCF’s COVID-19 response.

2020 will be remembered as a year of extraordinary hardship, as well as a year of critical response and impressive giving. Within days of the first local COVID-19 case, Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF) was distributing nearly $300,000 in emergency relief funds. PCF grants only grew from there: Its COVID-19 response in total awarded $2.6 million in relief grants to 110 Pasadena-area organizations this year.

PCF’s Friends & Fellows Fund was instrumental in allowing PCF the flexibility and finances to undertake such a broad and deep response. And, in addition to funding those on the frontlines, Friends & Fellows also contributed to PCF Scholars, a new housing initiative, the city of Pasadena’s emergency arts grants, small business relief grants, and so much more.

Take a look at our hot-off-the-press Community Matters newsletter, a 16-page special edition that highlights the very tangible ways Friends & Fellows funds helped PCF meet the COVID crisis head on, the partners that helped secure funding and material items for those in need, and the powerful, uplifting results of community collaboration.

Friends & Fellows gifts provide critical support for PCF’s grant-making and allows people like you to improve and enrich the lives of people in our community. Join Friends & Fellows and help PCF continue to make grants, build endowments, and bring together donors and organizations for long-term partnerships.
