Pasadena Community Foundation Funds

Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund

The Pasadena Community Foundation is committed to collaborating with residents and key stakeholders in the immediate relief, mid-term stabilization, and the long-term recovery and rebuilding of Altadena. Our funding response will provide flexible support to local nonprofit organizations as they respond to the Eaton Fire, and it will involve a multi-year commitment to help realize the community’s vision of recovery. As of March 7, 2025, the Fund has raised $18 million and disbursed more than $2 million. We’ll need much more to address the immense needs of our community now and in the following months and years.

We know our community’s needs continue to evolve following a disaster of this scale. Of the many areas of profound need, PCF has concluded that it can make the most difference by focusing on three phases of support and by addressing specific issues in each phase:

Funding Phases and priorities

Phase 1 (0-6 mos): Respond and Relieve

In the weeks following the Eaton Fire, the Pasadena Community Foundation has partnered with nonprofit organizations throughout Altadena and Pasadena to direct emergency grants to impacted fire residents.

  • Cash assistance
  • Groceries and emergency supplies
  • Emergency childcare
  • Rental assistance

Phase 2 (3-18 mos): Stabilize and Support

  • Temporary and medium-term housing
  • Family support and childcare
  • Case management
  • Mental health support

Phase 3: (long-term) Recover and Rebuild

Those who live and work in Altadena understand the needs of this community best and play a critical role in long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts. PCF will prioritize Phase 3 support for residents who want to come back home to Altadena and reestablish their lives and/or rebuild their property. We will work with residents and community partners to ensure the preservation of Altadena’s historical diversity and natural beauty.
