Fred & Jean Felberg Endowment

Fred Felberg

The Fred & Jean Felberg Endowment Fund was established to support the community where Fred grew up, attended college, enjoyed a successful career, and raised three children with his wife Jean.

Fred and Jean enjoyed their family life in Altadena and their home with its breathtaking view of the canyon and mountains.  When the time came to sell the house they had owned for over 40 years, Fred realized they would enjoy enormous appreciation in the value of his home.  He decided to share the wealth and shelter the gain by gifting the interest in his home to two organizations that had been important to him, Cal Tech and the Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF). Fred served on PCF’s Board, including one term as board, from 1986 to 1996.

Jean and Fred have passed on, but their endowment stands as a lasting legacy to their love of the greater Pasadena area and will support PCF’s local grantmaking in perpetuity.

The Power of Endowment
Endowments are the cornerstone of PCF’s mission to build hometown legacies. The corpus of each endowed fund is invested with PCF’s portfolio for long-term growth. Each year, the endowments generate the funds that support PCF’s local grantmaking, which enriches the arts community, protects our environment, provides health care and critical social services, and bolsters public education in Pasadena. Endowments are permanent legacies for our community; these funds will continue to grow and provide philanthropic support forever. Learn more about creating an endowment at PCF.
