Pasadena Public Library Foundation – Central Branch Retrofit

On Monday, May 3,2021, the City of Pasadena ordered the closure of Pasadena Central Library for seismic retrofitting. The Pasadena Public Library Foundation is grateful for donations, which will support the large-scale retrofitting project.

The iconic Central Library was designed by Myron Hunt in 1924 and was the first building completed in Pasadena’s historic Civic Center Plan. The library is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Pasadena Central Library is a beloved destination for Pasadena residents and families, allowing all to gather, learn, explore ideas, and connect with people and resources. Donations will help the Library reopen stronger and more beautiful than before, lasting for generations to come.
