Roger and Gloria Villalobos Mullendore Endowment for Hunger

The Roger and Gloria Villalobos Mullendore Endowment for Hunger is a PCF Endowment Builders Fund and will help organizations that provide food assistance to individuals and families facing food insecurity.

Roger was first introduced to the Foundation at a Local Heroes breakfast – he attended as a board representative for the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, a grant recipient that year. Roger shared his enthusiasm for the event with his wife, Gloria. She called the Foundation to learn more about our work. The Mullendores became annual Fellows donors and supported PCF’s 60th anniversary gala.

Gloria and Roger have taken care of parents and other elderly relatives, so Gloria enthusiastically agreed to serve on the Foundation’s Senior Grants Task Force. One of the areas of need that emerged for local older adults was food security. “I am proud of the work our Senior Grants Task Force did… (it was) a hard-working, serious, and thoughtful group, and the entire experience has been personally enriching for me.”

The Power of Endowment
Endowments are the cornerstone of PCF’s mission to build hometown legacies. The corpus of each endowed fund is invested with PCF’s portfolio for long-term growth. Each year, the endowments generate the funds that support PCF’s local grantmaking, which enriches the arts community, protects our environment, provides health care and critical social services, and bolsters public education in Pasadena. Endowments are permanent legacies for our community; these funds will continue to grow and provide philanthropic support forever.
