The Wendy Munger and Leonard Gumport Endowment is a Pasadena Community Foundation Endowment Builder fund and provides unrestricted support for PCF’s local grantmaking programs in the Pasadena area.
Wendy Munger served on the PCF board from 2005-2015. During that time, she was quoted as saying, “We all have our favorite charities. They reflect our individual passions and our affiliations. Lenny and I get great satisfaction from supporting those charitable organizations and institutions with missions we believe in and leaders we trust. Our particular philanthropic focus has historically been support for education and the arts. PCF provides an opportunity for us to stretch a bit in our giving and to support our local community as a whole. PCF makes grants to local organizations engaged in a wide variety of programs, including public health programs and those benefiting disadvantaged children, senior citizens, the homeless, and the disabled, as well as programs dedicated to education and the arts. A single gift to PCF supports many worthy nonprofits – one-stop philanthropy.”
THE POWER OF ENDOWMENT
Endowments are the cornerstone of PCF’s mission to build hometown legacies. The corpus of each endowed fund is invested with PCF’s portfolio for long-term growth. Each year, the endowments generate the funds that support PCF’s local grantmaking, which enriches the arts community, protects our environment, provides health care and critical social services, and bolsters public education in Pasadena. Endowments are permanent legacies for our community; these funds will continue to grow and provide philanthropic support forever. Learn more about creating an endowment at PCF.
