On Tuesday, February 4th, Pasadena Community Foundation welcomed fund holders and guests to two “Year in Review” events at the University Club of Pasadena. PCF hosts this annual gathering to share an overview of the previous year’s financial performance and an outlook for the coming year from C.J. Dennis, Senior Investment Consultant at Vanguard Institutional Advisory Services. For this year’s presentations, PCF hosted two events – a breakfast for agency fund holders, and a lunch for individuals and organizations with invested or endowed funds.

“PCF’s core mission is to build hometown legacies, and we do that by growing the discretionary endowments that support our local grant programs and the agency endowments that support Pasadena’s nonprofit organizations,” said Jennifer DeVoll. “Individual donors with invested and endowed funds share this approach to philanthropy, and together we all benefit from investment strategies that prioritize steady growth with long-term giving horizons.”

In addition to individual donors, representatives from organizations with endowments and other funds held by PCF attended, including Bill Huang from the City of Pasadena, Patrick Conyers of the Pasadena Educational Foundation, Harlan Ward of Gamma Zeta Boule, Tori Fisk of the YWCA Glendale, and representatives from the Altadena Library Foundation, San Marino Women’s Club, and Pasadena Humane Society. In addition to the millions of dollars that donors give through PCF each year, the Foundation awarded $1.8 million in grants in 2019 from its portfolio of Funds for Pasadena, all dedicated to supporting local nonprofit organizations.
