The Luke & Allyson Copeland Endowment supports Pasadena Community Foundation’s grantmaking in the Impact Area of Education. This fund supports local organizations working to sustain and uplift our community.
When Rick and Mariver Copeland’s twins, Luke and Allyson, were five years old, they envisioned a way to bring philanthropy into their children’s lives as more than just an abstract ideal. Establishing an endowment in the children’s names with the Pasadena Community Foundation presented the perfect opportunity to teach them how to put altruism into action. Rick’s parents, Jim* and Sandy Copeland, helped establish the fund. “When Rick and Mariver suggested we create the endowment to help the twins learn first-hand the benefits of charitable giving, we thought it was a wonderful idea — for our grandchildren and for the Pasadena community,” said Jim.
Now college-age young adults, Luke and Allyson are committed to growing the endowment and embracing the power of investing in the community and helping others.
