About the Fund

Julie & Scott Nesbit Family Endowment supports multiple PCF Impact Areas, including Youth & Education, Health & Safety, and Human Services in the Greater Pasadena area.

Julie and Scott Nesbit are both native Californians. Scott is retired from a career in real estate and Julie is currently an Executive Vice President at Whittier Trust and leads its Philanthropic Services Group. The couple also has a long history of nonprofit board service. Julie is currently on numerous boards, and Scott spent several years on the Board of the Cancer Support Community of Pasadena.

In January 2021, Scott joined the Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF) Board of Directors, where Scott has witnessed first-hand how far reaching and impactful PCF has been in serving the needs of Pasadena’s nonprofit community through its grant making program. The Nesbits have also chosen to demonstrate their deep commitment to nonprofits in another way: by establishing a PCF endowment. They share that their choice to focus their support on a range of causes in the local area was because “we believe that every person deserves an opportunity to have a full life. We share a keen interest in supporting education programs for underserved youth and finding ways to help the homeless population.”

“We believe that creating an endowment at PCF is the most impactful way that we can have a positive effect on many nonprofits in the Pasadena area. We have observed how PCF is an excellent steward of the funds it manages, as well as how the Foundation’s size, focus, and the skills of the PCF staff allow the organization to have an exponential impact on the Pasadena nonprofit community.”
