The David and Holly Davis Endowment supports Pasadena Community Foundation’s grantmaking in arts and culture. Created by a couple with a deep love for the performing and visual arts, the fund ensures lasting support for Pasadena’s vibrant creative community.
OVERVIEW
David (“Dave”) Davis and Holly Raymond met at the University of Southern California and were married for 49 years before Holly passed away in 2016. Dave passed away in August 2024. Dave served on the board of Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF) from 2005 to 2015. and learned during his tenure about the power of endowment. Dave and Holly created their named endowment fund to ensure support for a wide range of arts and culture organizations in Pasadena.

“As long as I can remember, Holly and I enjoyed the performing and visual arts,” said David at the time of creating the endowment in 2012. “In fact, we first met singing and dancing in a show while attending USC. Holly was fond of the symphony, and I love jazz, and we both very much enjoyed live theater. When we planned our trips, we made certain to visit a variety of galleries or to see works by a particular artist. During my long tenure on the board of the Pasadena Playhouse, I learned a great deal about the financial challenges that are unique to producing theaters, so we do what we can to support these important local organizations. Our endowment is a wonderful way to begin our collaboration as patrons of the arts.”
