The Altadena Library Foundation Endowment is a designated endowment of the Pasadena Community Foundation, benefiting programming, facility support, and outreach efforts of the Altadena Library District. The Altadena Library is integral to the strength of Altadena community — inspiring curiosity, connecting neighbors, and celebrating its unique spirit.
The Altadena Library Foundation was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 2009 to focus on developing a stronger sense of philanthropy among our neighbors. The Foundation has been raising funds for the Altadena Library District for many years to strengthen and support library services for the residents of Altadena, part of unincorporated Los Angeles County. Funds have been used to help supplement the programming and structural facility needs at the Main Branch and the Bob Lucas Memorial Branch of the library district, as well as community outreach efforts. As with all vibrant institutions, responding to ever-changing community needs requires sufficient resources. To that end, the Altadena Library Foundation has established a permanent endowment to ensure the library will meet the needs of the community well beyond our lifetimes.
