About the Fund

Ann and Olin Barrett* shared a passion for the arts. They both served in volunteer leadership positions with numerous nonprofit agencies that enrich our community through visual and performing arts and arts education.

Olin served on the board of directors of the Pasadena Conservatory of Music for many years and led the organization’s capital campaigns to renovate the campus. They couple has been active supporters of the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens, where Olin served on the Board of Overseers. Ann is a longtime member of the Pasadena Art Alliance and Art Center 100, and a past board member of the Armory Center for the Arts. Olin and Ann have a long history with Pacific Oaks College & Children’s School, where Olin served as a trustee. Ann is a founder of Kidspace Children’s Museum.

In 2015, Ann completed a 10-year term on the board of directors of the Pasadena Community Foundation. During the Foundation’s 60th Anniversary year, in 2013, Ann and Olin created the Ann Dobson Barrett & Olin Barrett Endowment for Arts and Culture, which generates annual grants to local arts organizations. The Barrett’s fund is one of several at PCF that provide a permanent source of funding for Pasadena’s many artistic and cultural organizations.
