Muir Class of 1966 Scholarship Endowment

The Muir Class of 1966 Scholarship Endowment supports scholarships for graduating seniors at John Muir High School Early College Magnet. Established by alumni, the fund recognizes one male and one female student each year who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service.

OVERVIEW

About the Fund

This scholarship fund was established by the Muir Class of 1966 to inspire John Muir High School Early College Magnet students to pursue higher education actively and have a life of civic engagement and community service. The Muir Class of 1966 Scholarship Endowment will distribute awards to graduating high school seniors at Muir High School, one male and one female, who have excelled in their studies and extracurricular activities.

Grantmaking Impact

Through this scholarship fund, PCF has been able to

  • Provide sustained funding
  • Offer consistent financial support for scholarship programs for students throughout Greater Pasadena.
  • Expand equitable educational pathways
  • Empower educational organizations to expand their services and reach more students in need.
  • Support flexibility
  • Allows PCF to direct resources when and where they are needed most, respond quickly to emerging needs, and fill funding gaps that restricted gifts can’t cover.

Qualifications and eligibility:
Graduating seniors in good academic standing with at least a 3.2 GPA
All requirements listed on the John Muir High School Scholarship Application, including two letters of recommendation, transcript, personal statement, and a short essay.
Acceptance at a community college, private or public college/university.
