FUND PROFILE

Ray & Eddie Newman Endowment for Education

The Ray and Eddie Newman Endowment for Education supports Pasadena Community Foundation’s grantmaking in education. Established by lifelong Pasadena residents and community leaders, the fund reflects their deep commitment to empowering local youth through academic opportunity and achievement.

OVERVIEW

About the Fund

Eddie Newman served on the PCF Board for several years where she always contributed her passion for education. A Pasadena native who attended John Muir High School, Eddie is a retired educator and has dedicated her adult life to helping children receive the best possible education.

Soon after college, Eddie returned to work at Muir for the next 13 years as a counselor, a role she loved. She was then promoted to Assistant Principal and four years later to principal, a position she would excel at for the next eight years. Eddie had an incredible, positive impact on so many kids who attended Muir during her long tenure. Many of those graduates still live in Pasadena and our community has benefited from all the amazing work she accomplished at Muir High School.
