OVERVIEW

About the Fund

Fran Scoble served on the board of Pasadena Community Foundation for many years. She spent over 40 years in education as a teacher and senior administrator, including her time as Head of Westridge School in Pasadena from 1990-2008. Fran also served on the board of of the Scripps College, Planned Parenthood Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley, and Mothers’ Club Family Learning Center. Following her retirement from Westridge School, Fran completed certification as an Executive Coach and assisted schools and nonprofits in strengthening leadership and governance.

Fran created the Scoble Family Endowment in 2012 to support PCF’s grantmaking in the Impact Area of Youth & Education. She shared the following in 2018: “Soon after my retirement from Westridge School, in 2009, I was invited to join the Pasadena Community Foundation Board. I have a great deal of experience raising funds to support education, and I was eager to have an opportunity to be on the ‘giving’ side of the equation through the Foundation. My board service has been deeply rewarding. Along the way, I decided to expand my relationship with the Foundation by establishing an endowment fund to support education in Pasadena. The Scoble Family Endowment Fund enables me to ‘give where I live.’ The city of Pasadena is blessed with a diverse safety net of local organizations that provide important support to the city’s underserved populations. For all these reasons, and more, I find my work with the Foundation one of my most rewarding volunteer experiences.
