Overview

About Patron Saints Foundation Grants

The Patron Saints Foundation began as the St. Luke Foundation, created in 1979 to support the nonprofit St. Luke Hospital in east Pasadena. After the hospital was sold to a for‑profit company in 1985, the foundation could no longer fund it. Honoring a commitment to preserve $2.8 million raised for community health, the organization was reorganized in 1986 as The Patron Saints Foundation with a mission to provide health‑focused grants to nonprofit organizations serving the West San Gabriel Valley.

Today, The Patron Saints Foundation is committed to ensuring that all individuals in the West San Gabriel Valley area are healthy and able to reach their full potential. Through its annual grant program, the foundation supports initiatives that focus on long-term community healthcare services, including primary care, and dental and mental health services. Funding is directed toward programs that are collaborative, resource-leveraging, and culturally responsive.
