PCF is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2019 Rowe & Gayle Giesen Trust grants, awarded annually to arts organizations in Pasadena. The Giesen Trust, a fund of Pasadena Community Foundation since 2013, encourages the personal and emotional development of children and youth through an experience in the visual arts. The Giesen Trust is administered by PCF as one of the Foundation’s Funds for Pasadena, and grant proposals are reviewed by an advisory committee of community members, arts and education professionals, and Giesen family members.
The Trust seeks to enable children of all backgrounds, in the greater Pasadena area, to participate in the creative process. The 2019 Giesen Trust grants total $33,000, and the programs and projects funded include scholarships for the Art Center Kids and Teens programs, the PUSD second grade public art curriculum, and a pilot project to create free family programming at Remainders Creative Reuse, a maker space dedicated to creative reuse and practical arts.
